You rock Kara!
How many of you made a New Years Resolution for 2016? Were you one of many people who set a goal for themselves to become healthier and happier You in 2016? I am!
How many of you start each year with the best intentions to get out the door for a run or hit the gym at least a few times per week? How many of you struggle with the motivation to get it done once the novelty of the new year fades and the real world sets in?
I think that most of us struggle with this. Yes, even me. So when my husband Adam and his best friend Tim (founders of Run The Edge) launched the Run The Year 2015 Challenge, Run 2,015 Miles in 2015, I was interested in what would happen. Over 25,000 people signed up to be a part of the challenge and a part of a unique community of people all striving for the same goal, to ‘Make Fit Happen’ in 2015.
I would scroll though Adam’s Facebook feed and be completely motivated and impressed with all the people sharing their journey of 2015 Miles in 2015. It was so fun and so inspiring to see people encouraging one another, cheering each other on, and watching people accomplish something they never thought was possible for themselves. It was absolutely amazing to watch, and I wanted to be a part of it.
I am really excited for the Run The Year 2016 Challenge because this year I will be much more involved. Instead of stalking people in the Facebook group, I get to experience the year with them! I’ll also be sharing some of my favorite recipes in the Nutrition Bar, giving training tips in the Training Room, and offering advice to help keep athletes healthy in the Aid Station. I might even be involved with live booth chat secessions and other exciting things throughout the year.
Check out the Nutrition Bar to see recipes me and my good friend Lottie Bildirici of Running On Veggies have created just for the Run The Year 2016 Challenge.
All year long, Running On Veggies and I will be interacting with the Run The Year community and providing them with nutrition guidance!
Adam and Tim set their sights on making 2016 bigger and better than 2015 And they have done just that. There is still the intimate feel of a community cheering you on and supporting you as you reach each 100 mile goal, but the new platform provides access to so much more. The virtual expo strives to give you everything you need to make it through the year and accomplish your 2016 fitness goals.
So get ready for a great 2,016 Miles in 2016 Challenge. It’s going to be an awesome journey, and I can’t wait to experience it. Who is with me? You can sign up here.

You rock Kara!
I like this challenge! This is my 5 th day! By providing my email, am I automatically registered to join this group?
Kara,
I am so happy to be part of this group. Everyone is so positive and helpful. Thank you all for starting this….
My goal is to get fit. I registered for the Yellowstone half in June and would like to go from 11 minute mile to an 8 minute mile.
Looking forward to this, thanks for recommending it. I am finding the navigation to their site and mileage tracker very challenging and confusing.
Do I need to join anything?
I’m intrigued by this, but I have a question about fitting it in. I’m training for a May 1 marathon and I’d like to run another one in December. Is this doable, given my marathon and fitness goals?
Any chances of adapting a vegan lifestyle this year?
Let’s ROCK THIS THING
I just registered and am excited about a different type of goal this year. For someone with three busy kids in or near high school, I choose to spend my weekends with my family rather than lots of races that may take time away from them. So, this is a great way for me to continue to have a goal…something I am working toward…without feeling like I need to be registering for a road race to get me out there. It’s a great idea and I’m looking forward to everything available on the site…especially the recipes!
